SKV Partner Michelle Stratton to Speak to Houston Bar Association’s Appellate Section

On April 13, 2023, Michelle Stratton will present a CLE to the HBA’s Appellate Section entitled, “Build A Better Brief: Tips for Improving Your Legal Writing.” Brief-writing is a core skill of appellate (and trial) work. And, as oral argument opportunities are often limited, a brief may be the lawyer’s only chance to tell the court why the lawyer’s client should win. As a Fifth Circuit and United States Supreme Court law clerk, a Bristow Fellow in the U.S. Office of the Solicitor General, and an appellate practitioner, Michelle has read or written hundreds of briefs. She’ll share tips she has gleaned over the years to take a brief from good to great.
