In January 2016, SKV partner Jarod Stewart was contacted on short notice by a top-25 oil and gas production company to try to halt collection on a May 2014 default judgment in excess of $400,000. After a contested hearing on January 13 in Brazos County District Court, SKV obtained a temporary restraining order that enjoins all collection activity. SKV will seek to have the default judgment set aside in order to litigate the case on the merits.
