SKV partners Craig Smyser and Ty Doyle, along with counsel Michelle Stratton and associate Crystal Robles, won a dismissal of a purported securities class action on behalf of client Nobilis Healthcare, Van ‘T Hoofd v. Nobilis Health Corp., Cause No. 4:18-cv-04727 (S.D. Tex.).
Plaintiff, representing a would-be shareholder class, made a series of claims regarding Nobilis’s reporting of its revenues. Nobilis, represented by SKV, filed a motion to dismiss attacking the vague, unsupported, and legally insufficient allegations made against the company. Rather than respond to the motion or seek leave to amend its complaint, Plaintiff voluntarily dismissed its complaint, ending the suit.
This is the third time in as many years that the SKV team has defeated a purported securities class action against Nobilis.
