SKV defended BHP Billiton and affiliates in a purported class action alleging underpayment of gas royalties on 40,000 Arkansas leases. After an extended discovery period and multiple depositions, Plaintiffs moved for class certification in February. Shortly after SKV filed its thorough brief in opposition to the motion, the plaintiffs decided to dismiss their claims against BHP before the class certification hearing. The case is proceeding against another set of defendants.
