SKV Names Two New Partners

 

SKV is proud to announce that Anthony J. “Tony” Phillips and Razvan Ungureanu have joined the Firm’s partnership as of January 1, 2018.

Tony joined SKV in April 2017. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with High Honors from Michigan State University in 1999 and from Harvard Law School in 2004. In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, Tony joined the U.S. Air Force and after law school, served as a JAG officer. Tony deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his work leading major crimes investigations across Iraq. Tony later became a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Public Integrity Section, where he investigated and prosecuted federal offenses related principally to corruption, obstruction, and fraud.

Tony is an active Boy Scouts of America volunteer and is on the Executive Committee of Houston’s Eagle Scout Association. An experienced and savvy trial lawyer, Tony actively represents clients in civil litigation, arbitrations, investigations, and compliance matters.

Razvan joined SKV in 2012. After attending Rice University, Razvan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Utah College of Law where he was Associate Editor of the Utah Law Review and a Quinney Research Fellow. Razvan then clerked for Judge Jay Bybee of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Judge Lee Rosenthal of the Southern District of Texas.

Razvan is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Houston Law Center, where he has taught Complex Litigation. At SKV, he devotes his practice to civil litigation and appeals. Razvan also serves on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Summer Science Program, one of the oldest alumni-run, non-profit summer programs in the nation, and has played in the World Chess Open.
