On February 1, 2017, SKV partners and American Law Institute (ALI) members Craig Smyser and Lee Kaplan hosted a meeting of the ALI, with dozens of lawyers, legal scholars, and trial and appellate judges in the Texas state and federal systems in attendance. The ALI is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law; its membership, by invitation only, is limited to 3,000 members nationwide.
