White Collar

SKV’s white-collar lawyers, including three former federal prosecutors and a former city attorney, have played major roles in some of the country’s most significant white-collar cases over the past 30 years: the 1980’s savings and loan crisis, the fall of Enron, Major League Baseball’s steroid scandal, the post-hurricane Katrina investigation into alleged euthanasia of hospitalized patients in New Orleans, the FCPA investigation into the Bonny Island LNG Project in Nigeria, the BP commodities trading indictment, and the federal criminal case against individuals following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

In addition to handling the most sensitive and high-profile matters, SKV white-collar lawyers have extensive experience in federal criminal trials and appeals, parallel criminal/civil/administrative proceedings, internal investigations, and federal investigations of both companies and individuals, whether as a “target,” “subject,” or “witness” in the investigation. Our recent successes include matters involving insider trading, commodities manipulation and cornering, environmental violations and industrial accidents, bribery, theft of trade secrets, FCPA violations, trading with sanctioned countries, money laundering, fraud, and conspiracy.
